Each year Earth Day is an opportunity for businesses, governments, organisations and citizens to demonstrate their support for environmental protection. As the climate crisis increasingly approaches the point of no return, it is more important than ever for us all to consider how we can hold ourselves accountable.

Magic Breakfast is committed to further improving our environmental credentials. One of our strategic objectives is to ensure our charity operates efficiently and responsibly with greater collaboration. Working in a sustainable and environmentally friendly manner is part of this responsibility.

We exist because more than 2.5 million children in the UK live in households that experienced food insecurity between August 2021 – January 2022. We are not an environmental charity but recognise the role all of us need to play in tackling the climate crisis. We remain steadfastly committed to our mission to ensure no child or young person is too hungry to learn and believe we can achieve greater social impact by doing our work in a sustainable way.

We have taken some first steps to understand our current environmental impact and identified opportunities for us to take action and change. As part of this, we will be considering our ways of working, fundraising practices, our policies, procurement, supply chain and partnerships through a green lens. Our commitment to you, as supporters of Magic Breakfast, is to be brave and make changes, without compromising on our core mission. We look forward to sharing our plans, progress, and learning as we move forward. We can all agree that protecting our planet is imperative for future generations and by doing so we can further impact their future in a positive way.
