Magic Breakfast’s current partnership with the Department for Education (DfE) for schools on the Free Breakfast Club programme will end in July 2026.
We decided not to submit a further offer of partnership for the next academic year to the Department for Education and will instead focus our charity funds and resource on supporting schools that do not have access to the government programme, such as secondary schools.
Magic Breakfast has always campaigned for and supported primary school breakfast provision. We are delighted that the government has recognised the importance of breakfast and is ensuring all schools with primary-age pupils will have a free breakfast club, as per the new Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Act, and with national rollout now underway.
Magic Breakfast will continue to support the Free Breakfast Club programme through our 11 engagement partners, who are working as regional expert advisers for the DfE.
We’re Magic Breakfast – a charity that supports children and young people to access their education by providing a healthy and nutritious breakfast, alongside expert support and guidance to schools.
