Diversity and inclusion

At Magic Breakfast we put children and young people at the heart of what we do.  Our values of compassion, openness, collaboration, bravery and wanting to be part of the solution are at the core of who we are and how we work. Our vision is that no child or young person in the UK is too hungry to learn.

We believe that a variety of opinion, approach, perspective, and talents are the cornerstones of a strong, flexible, and impactful charity. We believe that for Magic Breakfast to achieve its vision a clear and actionable commitment to diversity and inclusion is an imperative.

Sustainability

Magic Breakfast acknowledges our role in tackling the climate crisis and has spoken about our journey publicly since the start of our journey. We have a committed and passionate group of staff who form our Green Squad and who have championed progress, as well as an Environmental Action Group comprised of individuals across the organisation. Together, these groups are responsible for delivering on our Environmental Action Plan and our Sustainability Strategy (link to sustainability strategy).

Our board of trustees and Senior Leadership Team have reflected the strategic imperative of environmental action through our strategic objectives, sustainability strategy and business plan goals.

Further detail on our environmental impact and progress can be found in our carbon report, which sets out our baseline and current emissions data, our commitment to achieving Net Zero by 2045, and our targets to reduce emissions over time. The report also outlines the key initiatives we are implementing to reduce our environmental impact, including action on travel, homeworking, waste reduction, and supplier engagement.

We remain committed to sharing our journey, progress and learning publicly to support accountability and contribute to the charity sector’s collective efforts to address climate change.
