The House of Lords are discussing potential changes to the Children’s Wellbeing and School’s Bill. It is vital that they create a school breakfast provisions that works for all children and young people, including those with Special Education Needs and Disabilities.
Children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities are still children, with the same right to support, nourishment, and opportunity as the rest of the community. If anything, breakfast clubs may be even more important for them. A healthy, fulfilling breakfast can play a vital role in helping them start the day feeling calm, focused, and supported—building habits that benefit their long-term health and wellbeing.”
