Our stories Magic Blog PPL Glasgow Visit 18th May 2018 Following the recent launch of Magic Breakfast in Scotland, People’s Postcode Lottery Ambassador Fiona Phillips visited Abercorn Secondary School in Glasgow to see for herself how funds awarded by players are supporting a thriving breakfast club there. Fiona met pupils and staff and heard about the significant impact healthy breakfast provision is having on the school day. Head Teacher Patricia McGowan told Fiona about the benefits breakfast had brought to her school: "The difference Magic Breakfast has made to our school is amazing. The children who come to school early to share this experience are getting a great start to the day. We have seen an increased concentration during class time as well as improvements to their health and well-being through spending time developing their peer relationships. I'm so grateful to the charity for working with us." Fiona Phillips said: "This is a fantastic charity that helps thousands of children across Great Britain who come to school hungry each day. A nutritious breakfast sets these young people up for the day and we are pleased to be able to support Magic Breakfast's expansion across Scotland. Our players can be proud that they've raised more than £300 million for thousands of good causes like this one."
