Our stories Magic Blog Eat Breakfast 8th May, 2017 Children at Grove Street Primary School, Wirral, took time out from revision for their SATs to record a message to all schoolchildren about the importance of eating a healthy, filling breakfast. Their Headteacher, Mrs Marshall, asked the questions: Magic Breakfast’s Nutrition Manager, Harriet Green, has some tips too: “It is really important during exam time to keep stress at bay, to keep calm and maintain concentration, and eating right is central to achieving all this. During exam time breakfast really is the most important meal of the day. Brains need energy to perform at their best. A good energy-giving breakfast, such as porridge, will keep the brain fuelled and stop children being distracted by hunger by steadily releasing energy throughout the morning. Eggs too are good as they help brains function. It is also key for children to stay hydrated, so make sure they drink a glass of water, milk or diluted fruit juice at breakfast time too”.
