This week is Volunteers’ Week! A time to celebrate the fantastic volunteers who work with Magic Breakfast to ensure that no child or young person starts the day too hungry to learn.

From the volunteers in our partner schools who support the smooth delivery of breakfast clubs, to our corporate partners who offer pupils an opportunity to discover the world of work and how they can reach for their dreams. Thank you to all of the volunteers who dedicate their time and support to Magic Breakfast.

At a primary school in Lambeth, they offer breakfast club free to all pupils but not everyone can arrive at school in time to benefit from this. With the help of dedicated parent volunteers, they are able to offer toast and warm bagels in the playground to all pupils when the school gates open. This means everyone can access breakfast in the club or in the playground with no barrier of time or cost. All children can start their day with full tummies ready to learn.”

It was inspiring to be a part of Magic Breakfast’s Aspiration Day and experience first-hand the talent, curiosity and thirst for knowledge the students have.  I wish I’d had a similar opportunity when I was their age to meet and get insight into other people’s careers. Thanks to Magic Breakfast for arranging it – it was fun to be back in a classroom!”
