Teacher

As a teacher, I know that a healthy breakfast helps children and young people start their day ready to learn. And I’m not alone, 88% of over 10,000 teachers surveyed across England agree that breakfast improves pupils’ focus.

The Children’s Wellbeing and Schools bill is our chance to ensure every child gets this vital start.

The school breakfast provision within this bill must be strengthened to reach all children and young people most in need, remove barriers to accessibility, ensure proper monitoring and provide expert guidance for schools.

As a parent, a good school breakfast provision means my child gets a nutritious start to their school day, which helps our family manage hectic mornings and supports those who need it most. Every child, regardless of their circumstances deserve to start their day with full tummies, ready to learn.

Young person / student

From my own experience with school breakfasts, I know how important they are for starting the day feeling cared for and staying focused without the sounds of a rumbling belly.

We need to strengthen the breakfast provision within the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools bill so it’s accessible, well monitored, stigma free and provides guidance for schools.

I know this can make a big difference for students!

MP

As an MP, I know that a healthy breakfast powers the opportunities of children and young people.

Strengthening the school breakfast provision within the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill means healthier pupils, better focus in school, and support for families.

It’s our responsibility to ensure the provision reaches all children and young people who need it most, removes barriers to accessibility, is properly monitored and provides expert guidance for schools.

I believe in a bright future for all children and young people and the power of breakfast to prepare them for a long day of schoolwork.

We must strengthen the breakfast provision within the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill to reach all children and young people most in need, remove barriers to accessibility, ensure proper monitoring and provide expert guidance for schools.

Every child deserves to start their day, ready to learn.
