We spoke to Amy Mortimer, Head of Social Impact at High Speed Training about their partnership with us, including highlights so far and what they are most excited about in the future!
Thank you to everyone at High Speed Training, we are so grateful for your support as we strive to end child morning hunger as a barrier to learning.
Could you tell us about High Speed Training and what your role is?
High Speed Training is a leading provider of online training for compliance and personal development. We have helped over three million learners to reach their goals. We are proud to be a BCorp and my role as Head of Social Impact drives forward our company as a force for good that generates benefits for all of our stakeholders. That includes leading charity partnerships with organisations like Magic Breakfast, and getting our colleagues and customers involved.
Why have you chosen to partner with Magic Breakfast?
A current priority for us is addressing Barriers to Learning. Working with Magic Breakfast was a perfect opportunity to tackle the food insecurity that affects a child’s performance at school, and longer term, their social mobility. We donate a breakfast every time we sell one of our Food Hygiene for Catering Level 2 and 3 courses, and this is really supported by our customers too, many of whom work within the food industry and education.
What has been a highlight of partnering with Magic Breakfast so far?
It’s been wonderful getting colleagues involved with the Great Big Breakfast, the Magic Makers and Magic Reading Champions initiatives. In December 2024 we celebrated the first year of partnership, in which we donated 111,714 breakfasts, with an online panel of our key stakeholders. It was lovely to hear the impact, with a deputy headteacher explaining that “breakfast makes children happy” in his school. It really emphasised the difference we are making.

What are you most excited about for the future of the partnership?
It would be amazing if we could reach our target for 2025 to provide 123,500 breakfasts and feed the equivalent of 650 children and young people for a full school year. We are also proud to be offering further support to Magic Breakfast’s partner schools with the opportunity to take our Allergy & Anaphylaxis training free of charge and I am sure that we will get many colleagues involved in a range of volunteering opportunities over the year.
And finally (we have to ask!), what’s your favourite breakfast?
Pancakes with berries and yoghurt. My weekend treat.
