1 May 2019

Our annual Magic SATs campaign got off to a great start with a visit to Risley Avenue Primary School in Tottenham by award winning actor Russell Tovey.

Russell, whom you may know from Being Human, The History Boys, or this year’s Celebrity Bake Off, is a great supporter of Magic Breakfast. At Risley Avenue Primary he sat down with the children during breakfast and had a go at some past SATs questions with them, which proved to be good fun. The children were eager to show him their maths skills.

The Magic SATs campaign runs throughout May in order to raise funds to ensure no child sits down to their morning exams on an empty stomach, too hungry to focus and unable to do their best. Not an issue at Risley Avenue Primary which has a lovely, welcoming and very well attended Magic Breakfast club.

After their breakfast the children showed Russell their dance moves before heading off to class.

Russell was then given an inspiring tour of the school including their lovely garden, a singing assembly and a brief but beautiful piano recital by one of the school’s very talented pianists. Classroom ambassadors greeted him as he was shown around and Russell was clearly impressed by the children’s confidence and social skills. Thank you so much to the staff and children at Risley Primary School for making it such fun morning and to Russell for helping to get the Magic SATs campaign underway.
