What happens when a pupil starts the day with a full tummy and a sense of belonging?

For many schools who partner with Magic Breakfast, the answer is calmer classrooms, more pupils feeling ready to learn and stronger school communities.

Each year, we survey our partner schools to understand the biggest challenges they are facing and how breakfast is helping them meet the needs of their community.

Listen to a summary of this year’s survey, as told by a 7 year old pupil

This year’s findings are clear: breakfast is about more than just food. It’s about inclusion, connection and belonging.

“It’s about ensuring every child no matter their background starts the day with a full stomach, a warm smile, and a sense of possibility. That’s what makes Magic Breakfast truly magical.”

In our latest report, you’ll hear how schools are using breakfast to support children, young people and their families, and why the first meal of the day matters so much.

This research was made possible by the partner schools who gave their time to respond and the generous support of players of People’s Postcode Lottery. We want to thank everyone for enabling us to shine a light on child morning hunger across the UK.
