In 2024/25, Magic Breakfast navigated a year of significant change, transforming mornings for hundreds of thousands of children while steering with intention through a shifting policy landscape and rising levels of need. Throughout this period of uncertainty, we continued to prepare the UK for a future where every child in the UK is nourished, empowered, and thriving.
This was our biggest year of impact yet.
We grew to make a difference to more than 350,000 children and young people across over 1,000 schools, staying the course and ensuring breakfast remained a reliable anchor in young people’s lives. We showed up each morning with consistency and care, delivering a record volume of nutritious food so that children and young people could learn, grow and thrive.

Guided by the voices and insights of young people, teachers and school communities…
…we listened, learned and continually improved, strengthening our understanding of the challenges they face and shaping our work around what they told us matters most.
At the same time, we helped shift the current at a national level.
Through our central involvement in national pilots in England and Scotland, we played a key role in influencing policy and demonstrating what’s possible when breakfast is prioritised. Step by step, we continued to reshape the system, building the foundations for long‑term change.

Above all, we want to recognise the children and young people at the heart of Magic Breakfast.
Their experiences and perspectives guided our decisions and inspired us throughout this journey. None of this progress would have been possible without them, or without the extraordinary commitment of our partner schools, funders, supporters and staff. We are deeply grateful to everyone who has travelled this path with us over the past year.
