Board Advisor

Luke started campaigning for better food environments in his teens, driven by his food environment at school, and seeing the devastating impact of food insecurity on families in the North East of England. That early experience set the direction for everything since. He has spent several years advocating for the expansion of free school meals eligibility and wider food system change, including a stint chairing Bite Back’s National Youth Board.

Through the UK Youth Parliament, he has taken that advocacy further – making the case for healthier food environments nationally and internationally and ensuring young people’s voices are heard where decisions get made. Luke is currently studying at UCL alongside working as a Parliamentary Researcher for a Labour MP, bringing lived experience and policy understanding together. He has appeared on BBC Politics Live and BBC Radio 4’s Today Programme, and joins Magic Breakfast’s board as someone who has grown up inside this movement.
