We are thrilled to have been named Charity of the Year (income over £10 million) at the 2025 Charity Times Awards!
This incredible recognition shines a spotlight on our mission – to end morning hunger as a barrier to learning for children and young people in the UK.
This is just the beginning, as more people understand the power of a nutritious breakfast provided in a nurturing environment. Magic Breakfast has campaigned for and championed young people for more than two decades; we’ll keep going until every child gets the start to their day needed to thrive.”
Dr Lindsey MacDonald, Chief Executive of Magic Breakfast
We were honoured to be shortlisted alongside incredible organisations including Autism Together, Community Integrated Care, Islamic Relief UK, London’s Air Ambulance Charity, RNLI, and Shooting Star Children’s Hospices, all doing vital work in communities across the UK.
Why this award matters
This award celebrates a year of hard work, collaboration, and bold ambition. Over the past year, we have:
- Expanded our food offer to reach more children and young people.
- Worked with schools to improve uptake and ensure breakfast is accessible to every child who needs it.
- Secured political commitments and seen the launch of national pilot breakfast programmes in both England and Scotland.
This is also a recognition of those who support Magic Breakfast and drive our impact every day, ensuring that more than 300,000 children begin their school day with a nutritious breakfast.
We know that breakfast is more than just food. Schools working with us report calmer classrooms, increased engagement in lessons, and alleviated pressure on families’ budget. When school breakfast works really well for everyone, you can see the impact far beyond the breakfast bowl and across the whole community.
A moment to celebrate, a mission to continue…
This is a milestone we will cherish, but our mission continues, as we prepare to launch our bold new strategy (coming soon!).
We will continue to work to ensure that every child in the UK has the fuel they need to learn and thrive.
