The West Yorkshire Trail Run invites runners to explore one of Yorkshire’s most breathtaking estates. Set within more than 100 acres of landscaped grounds, rolling parkland, and peaceful woodland, this event offers a truly memorable trail running experience around the magnificent 18th-century Harewood House.

Whether you’re on the Half Marathon (21k) or 13k, your journey will begin along the scenic Wall Side Plantation before climbing gently to Sugar Hill, where sweeping views open across the estate. The route continues towards the iconic Emmerdale set, a unique feature that adds a touch of Yorkshire culture to your run.

From here, you’ll head towards the impressive Eccup Reservoir, the largest body of water in West Yorkshire. This tranquil stretch is rich in wildlife and panoramic views, making it a highlight for runners who appreciate nature at its finest.

The return journey leads you through Carr Plantation and Piper Wood, a beautiful network of forest trails filled with towering trees, woodland wildlife, and vibrant seasonal colours. Passing the estate’s serene lakeside, you’ll enjoy one final moment of calm before the finish line welcomes you home.

Every participant is rewarded with a well-earned medal, finisher goodies, and a refreshing drink the perfect way to celebrate completing this spectacular Yorkshire challenge.
