Sometimes it’s nice to treat the family for breakfast – this crispy giant French toast crumpet recipe is perfect as a weekend breakfast treat.
The recipe is mainly made up of crumpets, milk, cream, fruits and maple syrup.

French toast crumpet recipe

Crispy giant French toast crumpet
Equipment
- Frying pan
- Shallow tray
- Whisk (But a fork would work too!)
Ingredients
- 6 whole Happy eggs Normal eggs will work too
- 3 pack Warburtons Giant Crumpets Other crumpets will work too
- 160 ml Whole milk Other milk will work
- 80 ml Double cream Will work without cream too
- 1 tsp Vanilla Essence
- 3-4 tbsp Olive oil
- 2 cups Crispy cereal Mashed up cornflakes would work
- 1 handful Blueberries Optional – other berries would work too eg raspberries
- 1-2 whole Bananas Optional – can try with other fruit too
- 2 tbsp Chopped hazelnuts Optional – other nuts would work too
- 1 squeeze Maple syrup Runny honey would work as well
Instructions
- Whisk together 4 Happy Eggs, milk, cream and vanilla and then pour into a shallow tray.
- Take 1 – 2 crumpets at a time and lay in the egg mix, allow to soak for 3-4 minutes…the longer the soak the better!
- Then place crumpets into the crispy cereal ensuring all sides are covered.
- Heat a medium sauce pan and add the oil, place soaked crumpet in the pan and cook on each side for 2-3 minutes on a medium heat.
- Cook until golden and crispy, keep warm and then serve with sliced banana, blueberries and drizzle with maple syrup.
