Connex Education Partnership are one of the largest and most trusted whole-school recruitment and training providers for UK schools. In 2023, Connex Education Partnership committed to raising 1 million nutritious breakfasts for Magic Breakfast! From cycling to carol singing, they have raised over 200,000 breakfasts so far and we asked Shaun Weatherby to share a little bit more.
We sat down with Connex Education to talk more about the partnership and their support for Magic Breakfast. Thank you, Connex Education, we are so grateful for your support!
Can you tell us a bit about Connex
Over the last 23 years Connex Education Partnership has become one of the largest and most trusted whole-school recruitment & training providers to schools, academies, SEND settings and alternative provision in the UK.
With 13 offices from London to Middlesbrough, we support over 3,000 schools, deploy over 6,200 supply staff, deliver pupil interventions to over 100,000 pupils, and train over 30,000 staff employed in our client schools each year.
Why did Connex choose to support Magic Breakfast?
As a business we are committed to do the right thing, simply because it is the right thing to do. When we heard about Magic Breakfast, we knew supporting the charity was the right thing to do. We work with many schools across the country and hear first-hand about the number of pupils who turn up to school without having breakfast. This can have a huge impact on their learning and behaviour therefore anyway we can support Magic Breakfast’s mission in tackling morning hunger in schools is hugely important.
How have you found the partnership to date?
The support we have had from the Magic Breakfast team has been amazing. From securing last-minute spaces on the Alton Towers run, sharing fundraising ideas, and organising visits to schools to see how Magic Breakfast works first-hand, they have greatly contributed to our goal of raising 1 million breakfasts.
What has been a highlight of the partnership for you and the Connex team?
Our Pedal for a Purpose campaign has been a real highlight of our fundraising efforts so far. With many offices across the country, getting each branch involved has been a challenge. Cycling the distance between all our offices, which totalled 800 miles, seemed like the perfect challenge. Everyone got involved and cycled their share of the 800 miles, which generated a fantastic buzz across the business.
