We are thrilled to announce that Bukhman Philanthropies have partnered with Magic Breakfast to support us in our vision of a UK where every child is nourished, empowered, and thriving.

Magic Breakfast are delighted to announce a new partnership with Bukhman Philanthropies, who have pledged £300,000 to champion and provide nourishing school breakfasts that help children and young people thrive.

Children and young people should not be too hungry to learn, but 2.1 million children in the UK are at risk of hunger. That’s four pupils in every class of 30. The magic behind breakfast is so much bigger than the food itself. Working with schools in disadvantaged areas across England and Scotland, we work to empower every child and young person to reach for their dreams and thrive.

A magic breakfast goes beyond the table, it is felt throughout the school day, in the home, and makes a positive impact on the futures of children and young people.

Over the next three years, this generous funding could provide nearly 900,000 school breakfasts to hungry children and young people

For 20 years Magic Breakfast’s core belief has been that no child or young person should be too hungry to learn. This has been the driver behind our mission and growth. We have reached a pivotal moment, when the proven benefits of school breakfasts are widely recognised by educators, policy makers, and the public. Magic Breakfast and our supporters have helped catalyse this movement, seeing more inclusive, nutritious, non-stigmatising school breakfasts being delivered.

We are delighted that Bukhman Philanthropies are partnering with us as we embark on our strategy for 2040: Nourishing Futures.

We will deepen our campaigning, research, and advocacy with politicians and decision-makers, building on two decades of impact. The effects of childhood morning hunger are far-reaching, widening inequality, health issues, and perpetuating cycles of poverty. The magic that happens beyond breakfast has the power to break these cycles. A welcoming smile, a safe space, a sense of belonging; these are not extras. They are essential ingredients in a fairer, healthier society.”

Lindsey MacDonald, CEO, Magic Breakfast, said:

Our Annual Breakfast Survey 2025 found that:

  • 94% of schools agree that Magic Breakfast positively impacts pupils’ readiness to learn.
  • 89% of schools agree that Magic Breakfast reduces pressure on family budgets.
  • 93% of schools agree that hunger and access to food is a barrier to learning and success for pupils’, making it the third most common barrier to learning after poverty and the cost of living.
  • 76% of schools agree that a great breakfast provision helps reduce inequalities between pupils

At Bukhman Philanthropies, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to start the school day nourished, confident, and ready to learn.

Our partnership with Magic Breakfast reflects our commitment to tackling barriers that prevent children and young people from thriving. Access to a healthy breakfast is not simply about food – it is about dignity, equality, and unlocking potential.

We are proud to support Magic Breakfast as they deepen their impact and work toward a future where no child in the UK is too hungry to learn.”
