23rd July 2016

Hoxton Square in East London provided the leafy venue on Saturday 23rd July for the second annual Hackney Village Fayre - our summer fundraiser. It was lovely to see so many people happy to spend the afternoon relaxing in the sun, sampling the superb food and drink provided by our amazing local, supporting restaurants and drinks providers. Families with young children camped out on the grass and had a go at traditional fete games such as Beat the Goalie and Splat the Rat - and there was much excitement among the Under-7's at the face painting stall!

Here's a list of what was on offer in terms of food and drink:

8 Hoxton Square – Prawns on the BBQ with a Chickpea Salad; Dishoom – Bhel (dish) and Thums Up, Limca, Chai and Dishoom IPA; Foxlow– Lamb Tomahawk with Harissa Yoghurt and Roast Tomatoes; Hill & Szrok – Sandwiches from the Master Butcher; Il Cudega - Focaccia, Sandwiches, Pizza and drinks of Chinotto and Gazzosa; MEATmission – Dead Hippie Sliders and Halloumi & Mushroom Sliders; Smokey Tails - Smoked Pig Cheek Benedict with Anchovy Hollandaise plus Smoked Field Mushroom, Muffin, Poached Eggs and BÄ—arnaise. Biercraft– Beer from Five Points, Beavertown, Signature Brew, Hoxton Cider, Camden Brewery; Happiness Forgets – cocktails; Nude Espresso – coffee.

Huge thanks to all the supporting restaurants and drinks providers, to the fabulous volunteers who came to help run the event, to the cheerful and watchful security guards and to Natalia Ribbe who organised everything. We're already looking forward to next year's Hackney Village Fayre!
