We are thrilled to announce that Luke Hall has joined Magic Breakfast as a board advisor!

Luke started campaigning for better food environments in his teens, driven by his food environment at school, and seeing the devastating impact of food insecurity on families in the North East of England. That early experience set the direction for everything since.

Magic Breakfast supports children and young people across England and Scotland. No young person can thrive without the right support, and when pupils are better supported in school, outcomes improve. I first saw this at school, when I began campaigning for better support for my classmates and for young people across the country. I want all children and young people to be better prepared to fulfil their potential, and joining the board at Magic Breakfast is a chance to help make that happen. I believe my experience will bring value to the board, and I’m confident I can keep developing my own knowledge and skills working with the team.”

He has spent several years advocating for the expansion of free school meals eligibility and wider food system change, including a stint chairing Bite Back’s National Youth Board. Through the UK Youth Parliament, he has taken that advocacy further – making the case for healthier food environments nationally and internationally and ensuring young people’s voices are heard where decisions get made.

Luke is currently studying at UCL alongside working as a Parliamentary Researcher for a Labour MP, bringing lived experience and policy understanding together. He has appeared on BBC Politics Live and BBC Radio 4’s Today Programme, and joins Magic Breakfast’s board as someone who has grown up inside this movement.
