We are delighted that Spurs and England footballer Dele Alli has chosen to back our Keeping Breakfast Going campaign.

Last week, Dele kindly posted a lovely video on social media in which he explained what Magic Breakfast does and said,

“As this situation … gets even worse, and more and more schools get shut down it is getting tough for them to keep providing kids with their meals, but they are doing so. They are still providing kids with their breakfasts”

He directed his fans to his text to donate link and to our website saying “I am going to help out as much as I can”

The media picked up on his generosity and it resulted in some great press coverage for Magic Breakfast.

Henry Winter writing in The Times said that our work resonated with Dele who relied on free school meals as a child.

Dele spoke of the influence of footballers “We’re used to being role models, we know that every day we have to live our lives the right way and try and send a positive message. We’re in a position where we can influence a lot of people, the younger kids, and with people looking at what we’re doing we have to spread the right message.”

Our heartfelt thanks go to Dele for spreading the message about Keeping Breakfast Going.

Once we are through this coronavirus storm we’d be delighted to take Dele to one of our partner schools and show him a Magic Breakfast in action. We know of a few schools in North London who’d be extremely excited to meet him!

Dele's text to donate is: MAGICBREAKFAST followed by the amount you wish to donate to 70085
(e.g. text MAGICBREAKFAST 3 to 70085 to donate £3)
