The Permira Foundation was set up in 2017 with a number of objectives, including to prevent and relieve poverty, and in April 2020 the Relief Fund was raised to support charities directly affected by Covid-19. 

The Permira Foundation has been a valued partner of Magic Breakfast since this time, when it first supported us via our emergency campaign, Keeping Breakfast Going, which aimed to get breakfast to vulnerable schoolchildren during the first national lockdown.   

Thanks to The Permira Foundation’s support, the equivalent of 185,000 breakfasts were delivered to schoolchildren who would have otherwise gone hungry in the mornings. 

The Permira Foundation’s commitment to feeding schoolchildren at risk of hunger has not stopped there. When Magic Breakfast stepped in over the Christmas holidays in 2020 to ensure that children could still receive a healthy and nutritious breakfast, The Permira Foundation was there to lend its support again. This time, the equivalent of over 7,800 breakfast packs were distributed thanks to their generosity.

Our partnership with The Permira Foundation and the company’s employees goes from strength-to-strength. From inputting into Magic Breaskfast’s strategic development, to supporting us on pro bono projects and volunteering, we are just at the beginning of seeing what our organisations can achieve in partnership.
