It’s DAY 4 of #MagicBreakfastWeek 💫 Today we have a delicious recipe from Dishoom. Dishoom Restaurants have been supporting Magic Breakfast for a few years now, helping to deliver 3 million meals to children at Magic Breakfast partner schools and the charity Akshaya Patra in India.

One of our favourite Magic Breakfast options is PORRIDGE, and Dishoom makes a very special one with sliced bananas and dates. You can enjoy a bowl of this any morning at one of their five locations in London, one in Edinburgh and soon Manchester!  Plus, when you eat breakfast at a Dishoom, you are helping us to provide a healthy and nutritious start to one of the 31,500 children we feed each day. So thank you!

Recipe Serves 2

170g cooked porridge
180ml Milk
1 banana
A handful of sliced dates

Cook oats in saucepan with milk, stirring often. Once soft, serve topped with sliced dates and banana.

Nutrition Facts from our Nutrition Know it All Harriet Green

⭐️Porridge is a good source of fibre, minerals and vitamins and one bowl contains enough beta glucan to help lower cholesterol as part of a varied and balanced diet.

⭐️Oats are naturally low in saturated fat and salt.

⭐️Dates are packed full of natural sugars therefore they are a great way to get a quick energy boost. The fibre in them will help keep energy levels up, unlike the crash you would get with other sugary food. They are also a good source of iron.
