Exam season has always been a nervous time for students, but for today’s schoolchildren – having faced two years of disrupted lessons, cancelled tests and virtual learning – this year’s exams pose an even bigger obstacle.

This is especially true for disadvantaged pupils, who have been disproportionally affected by learning loss during the pandemic and are falling even further behind their peers. Thousands of students will sit their SATS, GCSE and A Level exams this summer with empty stomachs, struggling to concentrate and having already missed out on crucial learning.

To level the playing field for disadvantaged children this exam season, Magic Breakfast will be running Fuel for Success, a campaign to highlight the impact child morning hunger has on educational attainment. Because no student should have their education put at risk due to hunger. By providing children with a nutritious breakfast, we can fuel their success and their future.

And this exam season, your support of children and young people will go twice as far. If you make a gift through The Big Give before noon on 15 July, your gift will be matched, meaning your gift will fund twice as many breakfasts. To give children the fuel to learn and have your gift doubled, make your donation here.
