Today we are proud to launch our powerful and emotive film, No Child Too Hungry To Learn.

The UK is facing a growing child hunger crisis. This film has been created in partnership with All3Media’s Bullion Productions to highlight the harsh realities faced by families experiencing hunger across the UK.

It is a hard-hitting film where parents speak of their fears regarding feeding their families and a teenager speaks of how poverty removes choice. "I don't choose to go hungry; I go hungry because I don't have a choice"

Child hunger is at a critical level with as many as 2.5 million children experiencing food insecurity last year, a situation which is being exacerbated by rising living costs and the effects of the ongoing pandemic.

The film also shows how Magic Breakfast works to alleviate food insecurity for children in disadvantaged areas. Working with schools to provide nutritious breakfasts enabling children to start their day settled and ready to learn, whilst relieving the families of some of the worry that they face.

Lindsey MacDonald, Magic Breakfast CEO, says “We hope our film helps raise awareness of the issues faced by families across the UK and inspires support and action from those who are able to help ensure no child is too hungry to learn.”

NB: To clarify, Tiffanie, one of the contributors, when explaining her situation, talks of eating dog food, this is something that happened to her as a child, not as an adult.
