Your support continually makes such a significant difference in the lives of thousands of children we support across the country. To highlight this impact, please take a moment to read a few words spoken by Jackie Newell, who was a Headteacher at Hollybrook Academy in Glasgow, and who joined Magic Breakfast as a Trustee last June. Sadly, since the speech, Jackie has passed. Jackie was a passionate advocate for children and young people and her speech demonstrated the impact breakfast had on her school and the community. We are so grateful to have had her insight and passion during her time as a Trustee and she will be incredibly missed.

Magic Breakfast is a lifeline for families and a predictable, stable, and reliable start to each of our children’s day. We all like certainty and routine and we all perform better – both socially and academically – when we are full...

One mum recently told me knowing her kids get breakfast every day is one less worry for her. This a sentiment shared by so many of our families, and our pupils love it. Like the pupils who run off the school buses to get to the table to start their day, or one of my S4 boys with autism who has exactly five Cheerio's a day and a bagel. Never six, never four…. always five. And there are the kids who, on a Monday morning, go back for seconds because they haven’t had much to eat over the weekend...

There are also life skills having Magic Breakfast in school helps develop. Many kids, faced with no other alternative, would start their day with nothing or a bag of crisps and a can of Irn-Bru. MB has taught them about the importance of nutrition...

Magic Breakfast is about food and nutrition, and it delivers that every day. But is also supports what all schools stand for: community, engagement, and making sure all pupils have the opportunities and life chances to succeed and enjoy school.
