Our stories Magic Blog Friends in High Places 13th February 2019 We are very lucky to be supported by some fabulous restaurants around the country. Many add a voluntary contribution to the diners’ bills while others fundraise for us through special events and promotions. Aqua Shard, a restaurant with one of the best views in London, recently ran a competition for children in some of our partner schools, asking them to design a snow globe. The lucky winners were then invited to a very special Mary Poppins tea 32 floors above London. The children were treated to a beautiful tea and were given gifts that were pulled out of Mary Poppins magic bag! They were even taken to see the machine that makes candyfloss. One of the girls described it as “the best day ever”. The children were all beautifully behaved (Mary Poppins would have been proud) and were a credit to their schools – Haimo Primary in Greenwich, St Stephen’s in Lambeth and Woolmore in Tower Hamlets. Thank you so much to the lovely staff at Aqua Shard who made the day so special. We are still reeling from the fantastic fundraising that you did for us over the festive period when your snowscape dessert and cocktail raised more than £13,000 for us. At the risk of being very corny you really are supercalifragilisticexpialidocious up there! Manage Cookie Preferences
