Magic Stories

2021 marked 20 years since our founder, Carmel McConnell MBE, started buying breakfasts from a local supermarket to give to children at 5 schools in Hackney, where she had heard from their headteachers that the biggest barrier to teaching was pupil hunger at the start of the day.

They say it takes a village, and we wouldn’t be able to achieve what we have without our generous supporters, partners and donors, the ‘Magic’ team who work to ensure we reach as many children as possible each day, our brilliant partner schools across England and Scotland, and of course the amazing children who are at the heart of everything we do.

To mark our 20th Anniversary year we looked at some of the stories that make Magic Breakfast, simply, ‘magic’, and are looking forward to a hopeful future.
