Dishoom pay loving homage to the Irani cafés that were once part of the fabric of life in Bombay. These cafés broke down barriers by bringing people together over food and drink. Since 2015 they have donated a Magic Breakfast for every breakfast served at their restaurants, over 230,000 breakfasts in 2016 alone.

Dishoom support Magic Breakfast for every breakfast they serve because they believe breaking down hunger as a barrier to education is important and urgent. The money donated all comes from Dishoom – it is not added to their guests’ bill or requested through donations in their cafés. They also work with local Magic Breakfast schools, teaching children and parents about healthy breakfasts.

In May 2017 Dishoom celebrated donating over 2 million meals to children in the UK and India. Here's their brilliant video to mark this milestone:
