This year, in the toughest year since we began operating 20 years ago, for the first time we have offered Christmas breakfast packs to children in all of our partner schools, to ensure thousands of children don’t start the day hungry during the Christmas holidays.

The breakfast packs have been carefully packaged up and given to families to take home at the end of term, or will be delivered directly to families’ homes during the Christmas holidays. In total almost 380,000 breakfasts will be distributed to 37,987 children across England and Scotland this Christmas.

To coincide with this special project we present ‘The Magic Night Before Christmas’, a festive poem narrated by our wonderful supporter Russell Tovey.

We are so grateful to all of our generous supporters who have enabled us to make a difference to so many families this year, which has been difficult for everyone but especially for those at risk of hunger.

Please donate this Christmas to help us reach more hungry children across the UK with a healthy breakfast each morning.

“I’m so proud to support this campaign by Magic Breakfast, it’s a charity very close to my heart and they do an amazing job of feeding children up and down the country that need it the most. It’s heart-breaking to think that there are children going hungry over Christmas, but thanks to these magical boxes of food, thousands will be able to fill their tummies each morning. Please join me in supporting Magic Breakfast so they can reach even more children across the UK, in a year where the need has never been greater”.

Alex Cunningham, CEO of Magic Breakfast said:

“It’s fair to say this has been an incredibly tough year for everyone, not least for the 2 million children at risk of hunger in the UK. While Magic Breakfast traditionally supports children at school during term time, we simply couldn’t sit by this year and watch children go hungry at home. So we are thrilled that, for the first year, we’ve been able to offer our support to each and every child in our partner schools over the Christmas holidays. We hope that children receiving a healthy breakfast will help alleviate some of the struggles families are facing, and that it helps nourish children so when school resumes children are ready to learn. We wish each of our families a very happy Christmas during this difficult year.”

Special thanks to the poem's author, Laura Colgan, and to T+T Design who created the film.
